Let me try to give you something that sounds like a definition first before going into more details later.

I love to define a multi-passionate entrepreneur as someone who intrinsically has more than one form of expression, creativity and innovation.

Discovering that you’re multi-passionate can seem like a lot to contain. 

Maybe you’ve heard the term in passing before by someone who defined it as something absolutely awful.

Or maybe you’re concerned that it’s going to be absolutely disruptive of your highly decisive personality when it comes to other areas outside business.

I totally understand how you feel because it was the same for me. So it’s completely OK that you might be trying to resist.

That’s why I want to make you feel safe in the idea of being multi-passionate by sharing 6 signs to help you completely clarify whether or not you’re multi-passionate.

Furthermore, I’ll share elevated concepts that no one else might have pointed out about each of these signs that will make you feel safe and empowered as a multi-passionate.

Let’s start with the signs.

Sign #1: You cringe at having to niche down or stick with one thing

This one is pretty popular as it’s the very first sign most entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts start to be concerned about before going out to discover the reason for their indecision.

If you’ve noticed (OF COURSE! You should have), the online space is ENGULPED by the “stick with one thing” message.

It feels like there’s been a continuation of the corporate culture of having one job for years and retiring into a peaceful old age with your pension in the entrepreneurial world.

The only difference is that now you’re not bringing someone else’s vision to life as the employee, you’re working on YOUR OWN VISION.

There’s of course nothing wrong with this concept, i.e. until it seems to be shoved down our necks as multi-passionate. 

I’ll say it as it is.

If you find yourself with a lack of desire to niche down or focus on one thing, you’re not confused. You are simply multi-passionate. 

But this isn’t even the best of the signs I’ve got to share with you.

Sign #2: The ideas doesn’t stop coming

One exciting reality of multi-passionate individuals is that we’re constantly trying to contain the ideas that keep flowing. 

One of the MOST disappointing moment is when you DON’T write the ideas down and then when you’re in a situation where they’ll be highly applicable, YOU realize that you’ve lost them.

(Give me a virtual nod if that sounds familiar)

If you find yourself being the IDEA GENERATOR in the group, that’s your sign right there. You’re a multi-passionate, baby!

Now this next sign is one that most multi-passionate find frustrating but when managed well and after you discover the elevated concept I will be sharing in the next section about it, you’re going to be fully empowered.

Sign #3: You find it hard to stick with one thing for a long time (auch… BUSTED!)

Finding it hard to stick with ONE thing for a long time can seem disempowering in true honesty to ourselves, but it’s a 100% sign that you’re multi-passionate.

If you, for example, find yourself feeling bored in the middle of a project or because of the repetition in the processes involved, and wanting to start something more exciting, that’s a sign that you’re multi-passionate.

Furthermore, if you find yourself getting really excited about a project or new idea, and then midway or some few weeks or months in, you get drawn to yet another idea and you’re tempted to leave the first unfinished project behind, (ehm..) you’re definitely multi-passionate.

Now while this can put off a lot of people new to the idea of being multi-passionate, there’s a way to manage the situation and also, a superpower that you can fully maximize from this uniqueness which I will be sharing later in this post. 

But I think this sign does not even beat the next one I’m about to share.

Sign #4: Your ambition sometimes scare you

If you have found yourself feeling literal fear about the bold, out-of-the-world dreams and goals you come up with, you’re 10000%multi-passionate!

As multi-passionates, we have the tendency of not liking to play it by the book, and it’s not because we love to go the hard way.

We naturally gravitate towards doing the big things. We’re the ones with the pull towards challenging the norms.

Most times, your background might not be encouraging in comparison to your big dreams.

Take me for example, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with being an entrepreneur before I took the leap. Then one day, I’m thinking about building a business empire.

Caveat: This is in no way implying daydreaming. You have exactly what you need to achieve your ambition inside of you. You just need the RIGHT support to discover, own and maximize these capabilities already available to you and this is what ONE of the things I support my clients around.

1. The ability to immediately change your strategy and adapt to the new flow of things when there’s a need to pivot
2. Developing thick skin and grit from challenges that come and when you adapt

Superpower #2: You’re a born solution provider as a multi-passionate 

Have you found yourself being able to immediately provide a solution to a challenge someone needed your advice about without even thinking about it prior to that time?

That is a superpower that’s so much more dominant in multi-passionates compared to other entrepreneurs. 

Sometimes, we surprise ourselves with how we can respond to problems immediately with so much precision.

This has so many advantages and one of them is that you’re already a natural coach.

Superpower #3: Multi-passionates are by default pretty great at multitasking when you want to. You can switch states as your mind works with hyper speed. 

I know. There can be a lot of resistance happening inside of you by this statement but stay with me and I promise you’ll see things differently.

Now, I want to clarify that I’m not in any way talking about multitasking to a point of not being able to keep up.

On the contrary, I’m referring to the mindset around multitasking in contrast to the DOING.

So what do I mean?

Yes there’s a mind mastery for multitasking and having mastery of it is the healthiest way I’ve found to get things done.

Instead of defining what it is, I’m going to give a practical approach to it.

Now let’s say you pick up a book you want to read and just when you’re about to dig in, you recall you need to work on a new concept your boss gave you all as an assignment or strategise on something in your business. 

The healthiest way to multitask at this point is to merge learning with implementation.

Pick a book related to the assignment or what you aim to strategise on in your business and immediately start drafting out how you can apply what you learn to the new concept you’re developing.

Mind mastery comes in here because your imaginative flow is opened up. You’re feeding your brain with so much energy.

You’re also creating a new habit for yourself; the habit of being able to increase the rate at which you solve problems.

I do this all the time and it has shifted me in a lot of ways. That’s just a micro example of multitasking that is both healthy and time saving.

With that said, let’s try to put a definition to what the mind mastery of multitasking is.

The mind mastery of multitasking is the ACT and ART of routing your mind to be fully immersed in the process so you can navigate through the different tasks in one full sweep.

Now there are some things you should never multitask if you can help it. If you’re for example looking on more than 1 hyper mentally draining tasks at once, I would strongly not advise that you do. 

To summarize, you start to stay on top of your game when you know how to merge different tasks that compliment each other in your day and make you even more productive with your time when you work on them together.

Superpower #4: As a multi-passionate, you’re meant to pioneer a revolution 

Though sometimes it can be hard to see yourself capable, like we already established earlier in this post, you already have what it takes inside of you.

You’re the one who’s always ready to question the norms. You’re not satisfied seeing things remaining unprogressive. You want to shift the tide.

This is proof that you’re meant to pioneer a revolution because you’re always ready to lead yourself first. This is also why you’re a born leader.

Superpower #5: You can pull intelligence from several fields and provide unique solutions as a multipassionate person

This superpower immediately stands you out from the crowd as a multi-passionate entrepreneur and we touched a little bit into it already.

Let me buttress on what I already shared a little before we move on.

You have all of these skills and expertise across different industries and that already stands you out. 

But something more fascinating is that you can refer to each of these skills and proffer unique solutions to problems.

This is a strong selling point especially as a multi-passionate coach or consultant. You can bring together your different passions and interests in one signature offer or even more than one and create incredible transformational results for your clients.

This alone is MIND-BLOWING to me personally and we already have that in us as multi-passionate .

How to manage the tendency for overwhelm and frustration as a multi-passionate entrepreneur

As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, overwhelm is something we’ll always have to navigate and unlike popular opinion, I’ve observed that it does not completely go away. It can be suppressed and managed but it’s not completely overhauled.

In fact, I believe it shouldn’t (no matter how weird that sounds).

Now you know I’m going to make things clear so stick with me. 

Let me share a personal story to help you to better understand what I’m trying to say.

When I was younger, I recall a time when I would have this literal fear grip me when night was approaching. 

I couldn’t explain why, not even until today. But the fear was real to the point of me always having to race to my parents room in the middle of the night because I couldn’t bare sleep alone.

Thankfully, that fear slowly faded and I sincerely thought it was over.

Then I decided to RIGHT the wrong of letting go of my dad’s company after he passed by starting mine.

One of the thing I had to get used to was being in front of the camera. Then there was that gripping fear again in another form.

But something had changed this time around.

In 4 months, I was articulately expressing myself in front of the camera to the point that strangers I meet online would point out that they had been drawn to me because of my *confidence on camera “.

What took me almost a year to navigate successfully before was done in less than half a year!

So what changed?

A decision (along with a lot of work done elevating my self concept and mindset).

Are there days I still feel the fear trying to creep in? Of course!

Do I let it stop me? Of course NOT!

I constantly working on mastering my mind and elevating my self concept.
