One of the biggest challenges for multi-passionate entrepreneurs who are growing one business and looking to explore more passions that they have is that they do not know how to manage their energy effectively.
This can keep them stuck for a long time, especially if they’ve been trying for 3+ months to integrate new passions into their business with little or no result.
In this post, I want to share three (3) reasons why it seems like managing your energy is so far-fetched and how it can be so easy when you put all of these things in place.
You’ll discover how to stop making the mistakes that you probably are making from each of those reasons that I will share.
Let’s get into the post.
WHY MULTI-PASSIONATE ENTREPRENEURS STRUGGLE TO MANAGE THEIR ENERGY: REASON #1
The first reason (and this one is so important) is that you do not have an aligned strategy in place to operate as a multi-passionate CEO while growing your business.
As a multi-passionate CEO (or Multi-CEO as I love to call it), you’re not only about growing one business and just doing that one thing.
You also want to be able to express other passions inside that one business. You want to be able to create and sell offers that allow you to integrate multiple passions inside of your business.
So whether that looks like one offer that has one promise, that one offer allows you to integrate topics like mindset, copywriting, and leadership.
This is what is possible for us as multi-passionate entrepreneurs and not having an aligned strategy to implement this can be one of the reasons why you feel overwhelmed.
You feel like you are waking up doing all of these things, pursuing all of these passions, or trying to develop all of these ideas.
Signs you’re struggling with managing your energy effectively as a multi-passionate entrepreneur
Then it feels like your energy is drained out by 2 p.m and you’ve not even gotten to half of what you wanted to do at the beginning.
Maybe you are managing different projects alongside your business right now and it feels really energy draining.
So you hit the sheets at 10 p.m without kissing your kids goodnight, or being able to spend that memorable time with your husband to blossom your relationship.
This is taking a toll on your relationship but you feel like you just need to keep going and it will all work out.
I’ll be your big sis and tell you this queen.
No it won’t!
Because you have not set that foundation in place to really structure your business in a way that serves you and is aligned with your lifestyle.
You are using strategies; whether that looks like the way you’re creating your offers, delivering your offers, marketing your business, the platforms that you are on, or even the way you set up your sales process.
All this is important to put into perspective so you can BE the multi-CEO that you need to be inside of your business or businesses.
It boils down to how you are structuring your business and the type of strategy that you are using.
The better approach — use more aligned strategies to reduce overwhelm
Most of the time, as multi-passionate entrepreneurs, we are tempted to use strategies that are either meant for non-multi-passionates or are not aligned.
For example, if you feel drained by social media and you just keep getting into that space because you think it’s the only way to advance your business, I invite you to reassess how you market your business.
Also, if you are trying to network (as part of your marketing strategy) in a community where they are not in support of multi-passionate entrepreneurs and everything they talk about is niching down, you might want to rethink being a part of such communities.
Your energy is being depleted by these communities, and the type of strategy that you are using.
You might feel more aligned with blogging but you keep hearing that social media is the way to grow your business.
Maybe you desire to start a podcast or you desire to start a blog or you desire to grow your business through events or any of the strategies that you could integrate. Go for it!
I invite you to switch to a more aligned strategy and conserve your energy my multi-passionate CEO!
WHY MULTI-PASSIONATE ENTREPRENEURS STRUGGLE TO MANAGE THEIR ENERGY: REASON #2
The second reason why it might seem like a challenge to manage your energy more effectively as you desire to attract more of your best clientele into your business and grow your business is because you do not understand how to effectively maximize the different passions, gifts and skills that you have for your business growth.
You need to understand that your Gift, Passion and Skill mean different things and can be used differently.
In Convergence of Gifts, I dive into the difference between your gifts, skills and passions plus how to leverage them uniquely for sustainable business growth.
Many people interchange the terms but they are not the same.
Difference between Gifts, Skills and Passions – Every multi-passionate entreprenur should understand this
Your gift is more innate and is basically what you have intrinsically. You can utilize your gift in advancing your business without it having a direct connection to how you create your offers.
In this blog post, we talked about how you can attract your best clientele as a multi-passionate.
One of the ways you can do this is to be able to understand how your gift is essential and how you’re positioning yourself and business, crafting your offers and even delivering your offers
Of course, this is something I go deep dive into in my Convergence of Gifts course.
Your passion on the other hand is anything that allows you to stir up your creativity, sense of innovation and identity.
Finally, your skill is a knowledge that you’ve equipped with. I love to say that it’s possible for you to equip with any skill because of the background that you have as well as beliefs and the values that you uphold.
So these are the three main differences between your skills, gifts and passions.
Understanding how to utilize your gifts, your skills and your passions for the growth of your business is important to manage your energy more effectively.
How to coverge your Gift and Skill to effectively manage your energy
To put this into context, if you have a passion for music and you also have a skill in photography, how can you draw a relationship between music and photography so that you are able to simultaneously show up without having to exert more energy?
You can perhaps create an offer that integates this skill and passion.
By doing this, you are able to more effectively manage your energy because you are able to draw a relationship in the way you craft and show up for that offer, create those content materials, or attract the clients in your marketing process and your sales process.
You are able to more effectively manage your energy when you can Converge your multiple passions in a more innovative way instead of trying to spread yourself too thin trying to show up for them all.
So you want to ask yourself: how related are my passions and skills? Does it make sense to outsource some things? Does it make sense to build a team at this time?
You want to be able to look at all of these things so you can understand how you can more effectively manage your energy.
WHY MULTI-PASSIONATE ENTREPRENEURS STRUGGLE TO MANAGE THEIR ENERGY: REASON #3
The third reason why it looks like a challenge to manage your energy is that you’ve not yet clarified your definition of harmony. This is one thing I love to talk about.
Harmony is central for us multi-passionate entrepreneurs. This is beyond balancing your business life or my personal life.
This is about finding harmony between how you show up for your passions and how you show up for your family.
It’s about finding that peace and security in your multi-passionate nature internally and externally. This looks different for each and every one of us.
For some, your definition of harmony is to be able to show up more for your family so that you are able to build a better relationship with your kids, build a better relationship with your loved ones, and build a better relationship, better communication with your partner.
This supports you in managing your energy more effectively.
When you understand YOUR definition of harmony, then you’re able to set priorities inside of your business and how you’re exploring your passions so that your bottom line is not exceeded.
When I talk about your definition of harmony, it’s also your definition of success because to me, harmony is really success.
Finding that harmony as a multi-passionate entrepreneur is what success actually should be.
Making sure that everything you do revolves around your peace of mind, family and loved ones.
You’re not in any way sacrificing the values that you hold for anything, for any of your passions, any of the ambition that you have, or whatever global impact that you want to create as a direct result of your passion.
When you fully clarify your definition of harmony, you also understand how you can effectively manage your energy.
So these are the three reasons why you’re probably not able to manage your energy more effectively.
SUMMARY ON WHY MULTI-PASSIONATE ENTREPRENEURS STRUGGLE TO MANAGE THEIR ENERGY
To reiterate, first of all, you probably do not have an aligned structure or strategy in place to operate as the multi-CEO that you are.
Secondly, you do not understand how to effectively maximize the difference in your passions, your gifts, and your skills for sustainable business growth and impact in a more effortless way.
Thirdly, you have not clarified your unique definition of harmony.
Like I pointed out earlier, this is different for each and every one of us. My definition of harmony is completely, totally different from your own definition of harmony.
